⚠ Important: Newer Fire TV Stick models running Vega OS (like the Fire TV Stick 4K Select) do not support sideloading at all — they are not Android-based. Check Settings → My Fire TV → About to confirm your device runs Fire OS (Android).
Enable Apps from Unknown Sources — Amazon Fire TV
This setting allows you to install third-party apps on your Amazon Fire TV or Fire TV Stick. It must be enabled before using the Downloader app.
Fire OS 7+ (2020 and Newer Models)
On newer devices, permissions are granted per-app:
- Go to Settings → My Fire TV
- Select Developer Options
- Select Install Unknown Apps
- Find Downloader in the list and toggle it to ON
Can't find Developer Options? Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and click on your device name 7 times to unlock it.
Fire OS 6 (Newer Interface)
- Go to Settings → My Fire TV (or Device)
- Select Developer Options
- Toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to ON
- Select Turn On to confirm
Older Fire OS
- Go to Settings → System
- Select Developer Options
- Toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to ON
- Select OK to confirm
Once enabled, proceed to install the Downloader app and your IPTV apps.
